The challenge for this event identity system is telling the story about journey of discover Hoi An in a close and simple way. And at the same time, it must be different from the usual style of existing marathon event in Vietnam.Therefore, I proposed to develop an identity which focus on the main concept of depicting architectural beauty and familiar materials of Hoi An.
The logo mark is inspired by the image of yin-yang tiled roofs and familiar diamond-shaped windows frame in architecture of Hoi An.The window frame is evocative the sense of exploration and viewing, which is great to represent discovery concept of the race. Throughout the identity system, many elements relate to window frame will be used.
Logo type is customised from Hai Ba Trung, a bold Vietnamese traditional breath font. High, narrow letters. Elaborate tails and sharp curves. The font reminiscent of ancient Hoi An architecture with pillars, roofs and window frames.
